6 Filipinos killed in Japan minibus accident named

In connection with the electronics giant, Sharp minibus accident that happened in Mie Prefecture, Japan on Sunday, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration identified the three men and women--all in their 20s to 30s--who were killed.

2. Remedios Bertoldo Cargullo
3. Randy Bayron Cornel
4. Analou Pater Dogami
5. Mabini Bangi Paler III
6. Ceferino Salengua Pedro, Jr.
Japan police said the other 20 Filipino workers, including one who had obtained Japanese nationality, and two other Japanese--the bus drivers and the trailer truck--were hurt.
The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion that the trailer bumped into the left flank of the bus at a crossing without a traffic light.
It was reported earlier that Japan will assist the families of the fallen victims in the Philippines.


At 17:00 Manila time, ANCALERTS said that 12 injured Filipinos were discharged from the hospital while 9 others are still confined, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
