French mayor tells residents not to die

Residents of Sarpourenx, southwest of France were told by their mayor not to die, and offenders will be severely punished.
Mayor Gerard Lalanne issued the odd ordinance because the cemetery is full.
Although there was no mention what the punishment will be, the bizarre ordinance applies only to those who have no plot in the 260-person village cemetery.
An administrative court in a nearby town of Pau ruled in January that an extension of the cemetery was not justified, the reason why the mayor took the strange action.
