Filipino detained at KSA airport for stealing 150 kilos copper

An overseas Filipino worker by the name of Vicente was nabbed by Saudi immigration authorities for carrying 150 kilograms of copper in his baggage allegedly stolen from his employer.
The departing Filipino was detained on 11 December as he was leaving from the King Khalid International Airport.
According to Migrante-Middle East regional coordinator, John Leonard Monterona, Vicente was later transferred to Azizia jail in Riyadh.
The Migrante coordinator then endorsed the case to the Philippine embassy to provide representation to the case and to inform Vicente's employer-sponsor.
The 30-year-old Vicente is a resident of Haen, Nueva Ecija. He worked as a furnace operator in a molding shop in Riyadh where copper was the main material.
Monterona said they have requested Vicente's employer not to file a case and let him go home.
Migrante once more reminded fellow Filipino workers to avoid doing things that will put them at risk especially going against the rules of the host country.
