Thousands of dollars raised for Giffords, Tucson victims



The Arizona Daily Star reported on Friday that donations to US Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and other victims of the 8 January shootings has reached to over $145,000.
The donations were sent to two local agencies, the American Red Cross ($53,000) and the Community Food Bank ($92,145).
Public relations manager for Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona Jack Parris said, "This is going into a restricted fund and we’re going to wait until Gabby recovers and then she and her husband, Mark Kelly, can tell us how they want us to use the funds."
He added that they put the information on a Website not having any idea of the public response, they were overwhelmed by the public's generosity.
Meanwhile, the attached video showed the statements of the doctors who said Giffords had been successfully transferred to Texas Medical Center in Houston.
