hello from colombo 14

had dinner last night with a vet professor and her husband in a chinese restaurant. it is good that that place served good food. not at all hot. that's why i was pleased but i think my hosts were not. lolzzzz they can eat again in their home, noh. they were so accommodating and all. she is also instrumental in the success of our project. i hope that all will go well as the succeeding projects will ensue.

i arrived in colombo 3 hrs ago and had pinoy lunch already. i think i ate more than the usual. the 3.5hrs bus ride made me quite dizzy due to the road conditions on top of occassional rainshowers. very humid now in CMB and there is power interruption in philippine mama restaurant that is why i had to find some better place till the power resumes. reminiscent of intermittent power failures in RP. it's nice to meet some pinoys here and speak tagalog, of course.

i learned that due to the bad situation of SL economy now, most companies have had to streamline their employees. that is why, most foreign workers like pinoys may have to be unemployed and will have to find jobs elsewhere. some of them would even take jobs that would pay less than 50% of their present income. that they would rather do that abroad than to go back to RP where their chances would not be any better.

will go to HKG via SIN 9.5hrs from now.
