85% of reps are absentees in House plenary sessions

ABS CBN reported that of the 283 members of the House of Representatives, 240 did not regularly attend the plenary sessions of the 15th Philippine Congress in their first six months in office--from July 26 to December 15.
The plenary sessions are where the House acts on pending businesses. This is in contrast with committee hearings wihere small groups of representatives meet.
The plenary sessions are scheduled from Mondays through Wednesdays at 16:00.
It goes without saying that only 43 (15%) of all congressmen regularly attended the plenary.
Of course, the public will expect various reasons why our lawmakers did not have perfect attendance.
The House Speaker refused to leak the data who among the representatives are the top absentees. He sad that it is the job of the House media.
