Missile test embarrassed Taiwan Prez

High technology and more importantly, high-powered weapons are only as good as the people who are using them.
In a show of military might, President Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan was embarrassed and not satisfied over the public display of the country's missile strength.
Of the 19 missiles, six missed their targets in a test that was held at the Jiupeng base in the island's southeastern coast, the Ministry of National defense said Tuesday.
According to Sky News, "One failed so badly, it flopped into the sea just 30 seconds after launch."
Pres. Ma told reporters, "I'm not satisfied with the results. I hope the military will find out the reasons and improve its training."
The test was the first time after ten years that the media have been invited that was meant to show that the island nation has the capacity to defend itself against a possible attack from Beijing.
The president said that it was a routine exercise and had nothing to do with China's next-generation J-20 stealth aircraft and Hu Jintao's visit to the US.
Mainland China claims Taiwan as its territory. Beijing and Taipei separated after the 1949 civil war.
