Caregiver arrested for attempting to rape an elderly woman

A 49-year-old male caretaker was taken in to custody on Saturday by the police for alleged oral sex, digital penetration, attack and attempting to rape an 80-year-old woman in California.
Domingo Rabor Rabino from Mission Viejo was arrested over the weekend for committing two incidents of sexual crimes, said Orange County sheriff spokesperson Jim Amormino, in a report by Laguna Niguel Patch.
During one visit, the Filipino suspect gave the elderly a therapeutic massage and then he "penetrated her with his finger." On another visit, he made another digital penetration and performed oral copulation.
The spokesman said Rabino tried to perform intercourse with the victim.
Although the act did not meet the legal definition of rape, it did involve partial insertion, which is called "assault with intent to commit rape," Amormino said.
The suspect had previously cared for the victim's husband who died in February. His services were called in again by the woman's family on 2 May.
Because the suspect was working freelance with elderly patients, authorities fear there may be other victims.
He was employed by the Amada Home Care but was working freelance for this particular patient.
Scheduled to appear before the court on Tuesday, the suspect was released after posting $100,000 bail.
Anyone with information on the case, or who may have been a victim, is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department at 866-TIP-OCSD or 866-847-6273.
