Philippine Exit Polls 2004
Sapporo City
PM4:15 (Japan Time)
It has been a tiring election time for RP. The candidates bombarded us, time and again, with their empty and false promises. But we go to polling precincts just the same.
We have grown tired also of the never-ending political surveys, the veracity of which, we do not know.
So, I have decided to do my own exit polls. This is an un-commissioned, third party, non-partisan, and uninterested survey. Meaning to say, I did not earn a single centavo for this. This was carried out for the service of our motherland.
Conducted through asking my friends and relatives whom they voted for President and VP, the subjects came from, of course, the Philippines, the USA, Japan, and the Middle East.
Abroad, surprisingly, none of my friends in the US were registered. And the majority of Filipinos abroad are in that country. So they did not vote. About 50% of those in Japan were registered. None of my friends in the Middle East replied.
More importantly, there is no dagdag-bawas (cheating) here, as we always suspect even in our highest polling center, the almighty COMELEC (Commission of Elections).
The results do not represent the voting population of our country due to the miniscule number of subjects. The important thing here is that it differs somehow with the pre-election surveys that came out few days and weeks ago.
We can draw several conclusions from the turn out of the results. One thing I have noticed is that less than half of those who were surveyed bothered to reply. At least two respondents said that they lost hope for the country. Some respondents said that they would vote for GMA because of fear of FPJ winning the polls. Some respondents voted for a president without a veep, and vice versa. Also of notice is that Ping Lacson received the most number of votes amongst my Filipino-Chinese friends.
Lastly, now that the election is over, let us start by building the country. Otherwise RP will be at the world’s tail end. We, especially the candidates and their subordinates, can start this by cleaning the streets that you made dirty and ugly. Remember that rainy days are here again, and the trash that you left will clog the drainage and will cause flooding again. Now is the best time to show your sincerity to the country.

Let us check the similarities/differences in these exit poll results.
At the end of the day, we pray that the COMELEC will give us an honest, clean, and credible results as fast as possible. Is it too much to ask? Or are we asking what is only due us? Thank you.
