Through leaked cables and memos, the public now knows who is doing what in the government.
Is there an advantage to knowing these secrets? Does the public have the right to know them? Or are they detrimental?
If worse comes to worst, the whistle blowing Website may not anymore show the public the behind the scenes. We may not know what happens behind the grin of top officials.

While I appreciate the underlying tone of your messages; we all have the right to know what things our government is up to. What I do not appreciate is the manner you have chosen to do this. It honestly scares me to think of the "fall out" from the release of so much information. I understand that the rest of the world hates the American Government, what I do not understand is what the American people have done to deserve this! I fear for the lives of my wife and son who serve in our military from the backlash of the leaked information. I am scared, confused, and frankly quite saddened by all the hatred. Why can't we all just get along and work towards the betterment of humanity instead of working towards the demise of it!
ReplyDelete@Original Peanut: Thank you for your comment. This blog is named Express Yourself. Self-expression is respected as long as it does not malign others. I believe I have not offended anyone. I have nothing against the American people. In fact, I have many American friends. What is scary is what is on news whether it be from the Press or from the new burgeoning WikiLeaks. The people--whether it be US or non-US--have little influence with what their leaders do when they get elected in public office. It is frightening to know that leaders have violated global treatise by spying on each other. What we know now could just be a drop of water in the ocean. It could be happening in my country, too. Working towards a noble cause seems too good to be true. I have nothing against it. But we have to deal with facts first.
